Celebrating the Worth and Work of God

Scripture for Meditation: Exodus 15:1

 Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders?

Prayer of Blessing

Responsive Reading: Exodus 34:5-7a, 10

 The Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord. The Lord passed before him and proclaimed,

 “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands . . . .”

 And he said,

 “Behold, I am making a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels, such as have not been created in all the earth or in any nation. And all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the Lord, for it is an awesome thing that I will do with you.”

Prayer of Corporate Confession

Silence for Personal Confession

Assurance of Pardon: I Peter 3:18a

Christ . . . suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God.

Response: Thanks be to God.

Ministry of the Word

Transition to Singing

Feel free to leave at this time or stay for the indoor singing.

Hymn of Praise: Behold Our God

Who has held the oceans in His hands?
Who has numbered every grain of sand?
Kings and nations tremble at His voice;
All creation rises to rejoice.

Chorus:
Behold our God, seated on His throne.
Come, let us adore Him!
Behold our King; nothing can compare.
Come, let us adore Him!

Who has given counsel to the Lord?
Who can question any of His Words?
Who can teach the One who knows all things?
Who can fathom all His wondrous deeds?

Who has felt the nails upon His hands,
Bearing all the guilt of sinful man?
God eternal, humbled to the grave,
Jesus, Savior risen now to reign!

Tag (4 times):
Men: You will reign forever!
Women: Let Your glory fill the earth

Hymn of Might: My God Is So Big

My God is so big,
So strong and so mighty,
There's nothing my God cannot do. (Repeat)

The mountains are His,
The valleys are His,
The stars are His handiwork too.

My God is so big,
So strong and so mighty,
There's nothing my God cannot do.

Hymn of Mercy: Thy Mercy, My God, Is the Theme of My Song

Thy mercy, my God, is the theme of my song,
The joy of my heart and the boast of my tongue.
Thy free grace alone from the first to the last
Hath won my affections and bound my soul fast.

Without Thy sweet mercy I could not live here;
Sin would reduce me to utter despair;
But through Thy free goodness my spirits revive,
And He that first made me still keeps me alive.

Thy mercy is more than a match for my heart
Which wonders to feel its own hardness depart;
Dissolved by Thy goodness I fall to the ground
And weep for the praise of the mercy I’ve found.

Father of mercies, Thy goodness I own
And the covenant love of Thy crucified Son;
All praise to the Spirit whose whisper divine
Seals mercy and pardon and righteousness mine.
All praise to the Spirit whose whisper divine
Seals mercy and pardon and righteousness mine!
